Default Replacement Right hand side Mirror for 05 LS 430

Recently, I had a hit and run where I was parked in a parking lot, and someone hit our mirror but only the actual mirror is broken. The motor for tilting up down left right is fine, the auto closing motor is fine, and the plastic is just slightly cracked, the vanity light on the bottom is also working. So would it be possible to find the actual mirror from anywhere? Or would I have to buy a whole new mirror because they dont sell stand alone mirrors? Thanks for any help.

There are at least 6 side view mirrors on ebay, but they are all for the drivers side. I doubt if Lexus sells just the outside painted housing. So you will probably have to pay the ransom and get a new mirror. How about insurance covering it?

Thats the thing, I don't need the painted housing or any electrical components within that, I just need the actual image reflecting mirror.

The mirror glass is available at Lexus dealers if you are willing to pay their price. Park Place Lexus in Plano, Texas shows a price of $271.00. I would first try to find the glass at a wrecked car yard.

This is the address for the mirror at Park Place:

The mirror has to be chromatic and heatable and fit in the same housing, you really think I could find that at a junkyard. With the mirror having the correct wiring harness fitting also?

Sure, that's exactly what junk yards do. You get one off another LS430.

Although I'm sure it will be harder to find than, say, a 2005 Corolla mirror, the recycle yard network should be able to come by one.

Here's the problem though - they may not sell you just the glass. They may only sell the entire side mirror unit. It may be that their unit price is below the dealer's glass price, in which case you could buy the whole unit from the junk yard and then just replace the glass in your own mirror unit.

Dang, Lexus parts are expensive! $271 just for the mirror glass is STEEEP!

It would be my guess that all 2004-2006 LS 430's use the same mirror glass.

You could call the Parts Department at Park Place and give them your VIN. They can give you the part number for your mirror. They could probably tell you (if they will) whether all 2005 LS 430's use the same mirror.

Just buy the entire OEM assembly from eBay for 50bucs max, and take out the mirror, and throw away the the rest, sell it, or burn it if you'd like.

By any mirror from any LS430 04-06... and just make sure you get the right side.

Ok, so I found a whole mirror assembly for $149 on ebay that is black. The auctioneer stated that the mirror will fit in 01-04 so this should fit my vehicle also, since the body style from 04-06 remained the same. If I go with the whole assembly, does anyone have any links on how to change the passanger side mirror? If so thanks!

I wouldn't be so sure that it would fit your 2005. The Park Place website indicates that the 2005 mirror fits models 2004-2006.

As suggested before, I would talk with the Parts Department at Park Place and determine if the 2001-2004 and the 2004-2006 LS models use the same mirror, i.e., is the part number the same.

You could also get this part number by e-mailing www.irontoad.com. When you ask them for a price on a part, they respond with the part number and the price.

As far as replacing the mirror glass, I have done this on my 93 LS. It was easy to do; however, I can't be certain that the assembly is the same on the 2005. On the 93 LS, you need to pry apart the bottom of the mirror from the rest of the assembly (use a wide blade screwdriver). When the bottom releases, pull down and out. There were clips at the top, bottom, and on both sides. The critical step is to get the bottom clip released first.

Ok, so I ordered the whole mirror assembly and will be replacing the whole entire mirror along with the housing. Now, time to find a guide! :] If anyone can assist with that, that'd be great .

Cheers!
