Default Is This A Door Actuator Problem?

My door locks work fine from inside the car (99 GS400). However, if I use the Master Key to lock my car, it locks every door except the driver's door. I have to lock it manually with the key. I can use the Key to unlock all four doors.

Another problem is about once every other month when I try to roll up the driver's side window it will go all the way up and then start down again. The only way to get the window up is to pulse the window up and then it acts like it never happened for another couple of months.

Are either or both of these problems related to the door actuator? With the group buy going right now it sounds like the perfect time to replace these. What would be the labor involved to replace one of these? 1 hr? 2 hr?

sounds like you might have an electrical gremlin in your door... hard to say for sure though...

As far as labor times, Mitchell quotes:

Power Window Motor: 1.2 hours per side
Regulator: 1.0 hour per side
Switch: .3 hour per side
(or some combination thereof, part of the labor time is taking the door panel off, and once in there, it's cheaper to do both or all three)

Sounds like actuator problem to me.

Probably 2 hours labor if you go to dealer. If you are interested in DIY, here is the info:
