Question Door Lock

My front pasenger door will not lock or open with the key in the lock. If I use the buttons on the key it works or the buttons inside the car it works fine. The drivers side is ok but I do not know why the passenger side does not. The key turns in the lock but nothing happens. CAN SOMEONE HELP?????

Depending upon the year, our locks have what they call a rotating cylinder I think. This is supposed to make it harder for someone to open the door with a screwdriver or a wrong key. Does it look like someone messed with the lock? The cylinder could be broken.

Could you take off the door panel and look to see if the 2 cables from the lock are attached at the ends?

haha, that cable with the teeth in it, mine broke, so the door doesn't lock, anyone know where to get a replacement? or do you have to buy the entire assembly?

I think you are right BCP43002, I did not take off the panel yet but when you shut the door it does not sound as solid as the rest.
