Default My AC always changes to outside air

Does anyone know how to prevent my AC automatically changing the mode to "outside air", everytime I turn the **** to like 75 degrees, it changes from Inside Circulation to the next one which is bringing outside air in, and sometimes I don't notice it changes and when I pass something that smells, It gets all in my car and stinks it up.

To save everybody from having to read his profile, he has a '93 SC400.

Thank you bob2200. I don't think the 93 SC has the smog sensor to switch from th Fresh air to recirculate.

It's normal when you turn the temp. to max cool and the system will automatically switch to recirculate mode to prevent the hot air coming into the cabin.

Its the opposite for him. He has it on recirc but when he increases the temp to 75 degree the system automatically switches from recirc to fresh air. I think thats what he is saying

Yes, I have a '93 SC400..

Basically, everytime I turn the A/C up to a higher temperature when it's cold, for example it's at 70* and I turn it up to 77*, it will automatically switch to "outside air" where I can smell everything that is outside.. I don't like this. Whenever I turn the temperature down it goes back to the circulation air. I want it to stay on the circulation air (left side) at all times.

what is your vent setting at? maybe its on defrost, even though that would do the opposite, ie turn the ac on

My vent is set to the front air setting. (the first one i believe) where the air just comes from the center vents. My temp could be at 71 and when it starts getting cold I turn it to 77 and it switches to "fresh air" and I don't notice it until I start smelling crap from outside stinking up my interior and I have to push back to the 'recycled air' this is a nuisance and I wish to find out how do I just keep it on 'recycled air' at all times.

Does anyone have any ideas? It's really irritating. If I put my temp. at 74* and I turn the car on it will always bring air from the outside. Last night I was driving, passed a sewer and started smelling the really bad smell so I looked at the AC and saw that it was on that mode again, so I promptly pressed the left button (recycled air).
