Default Recirculating indicator/switch

2011 RX350 No Nav - When I lower the temp to "Lo" to bring in cool outside air, the recirculating light comes on without touching it. I would prefer this feature to not come on automatically, rather only when I ask for it, for example, when there's smoke or smell outside.
I can't find anything in the manual about this program.
Anyone know how I can de-activate the auto-on feature of the recirculating switch?
This is with A/C off, Auto button off.
Hope there's enough info here.
Thanks in advance.

No, there is no way to change how it automatically switches. If you turn it to LO, even without the AC, you are telling the car that you want colder temperatures. If the outside air is warmer than the air you are requesting, it is going to close the outside air from coming in. Since you have AC off anyways, changing the temperature to anything colder than the outside air temperature does nothing. Only changing the temp to high will warm the air coming in. Hence, you don't need to switch it to LO, keeping it at 66-68 is usually perfect and will bring in the outside air without warming/cooling it.

It's a feature. Don't think it can be disabled on modern Lexus vehicles. Just be glad you have a dedicated button to quickly spot it and turn it off.

Thanks RXSF and vlad. I'll leave it at 68 and be happy, like the song says.
