Question Help with steering ?

I own a 98 GS and this is my first problem ever with the car .

For some reason my car doesn't want to track straight when i let go of the steering wheel . Cruising down the hwy. then if i let go of the steering wheel the wheel turns a little bit to the right . Then my car will go a little left and not straight .

I think my steering wheel is not centered thats why it shifts a little to the right.

I checked the tire pressure and it was fine . Any suggestions on a fix ? Or should i just take it to the lexus dealer ?

Thanks !

Keep in mind that highways, and most of the roads, are not exactly flat.

I believe it's time to do a wheel alignment on your car.

The first thing to do is get a four wheel alignment done. Lets take care of the basics first.

GS models are very prone to road crown drift.

I know that roads aren't flat . My problem is my steering wheel is resting a little to the left instead of being centered in the middle . You know how when you let go of the steering wheel and it will go back to its normal position which is in the middle . Mine instead will turn a little to the left .

I will get an alignment done and see what happens from there . Thanks again .

Your problem is the front toe adjustment. When the toe is off it affects the centering of the steering wheel. Front Toe will not cause a pull but can eat away at your tires.

Wink steering

Hello my name is Hokkayh(Hawkeye) I am a lexus tech I work in Virginia I have been working with these cars for close to 8 years the problem yo are experencing is one of three things, you have road crown, tire pressure, tires and suspension what it sounds to me is you are experencing road crown. You may or may not have Bridgestone on your veh. if you have 17" tires you probably do I would suggest getting into Michelin PilotsI have 17" Gs 430 rims on my SC 400 and I have Michelins on mine. now the other thing is your tire pressure if it is to high on one side and not enough on the other you will experence a pull, now the other thing maybe is your suspension or a bad tire ie broken belt in the tire(caused by pot holes) now the lest likely problem is your suspension may be bent which is very unlikely unless you have been in an accident. My suggestion is take it to your nearest dealer and have them check your tires(make sure they are good enough to perform an alighnment(4WA) and check tire pressures. write me back to let me know how it turns out
