I'm about to order the front rotors for my 1990 LS400, but the websites all say that in 90 there were two kinds of rotors. the thinner ones before 8/90 and thicker ones after 8/90 till 92.
How exactly can I find out which ones would fit my car. Is there a way to tell going by the VIN number etc ?
thnx in advance.

Reason: mistake
when i called lexus they never bothered to ask me what the production date was. does it mean that the dealer sells only the thin or thick ones for the 90's wouldnt they ask me the same question the websites are asking for ?
Besides the production date, another way to tell the difference is the calipers. The 5/89 to 7/90 models had single piston calipers, whereas the 8/90-92 calipers had dual pistons. Apparently some of the 90 LS400s were retrofitted with the thicker (26mm) brake rotors, which I imagine would necessitate that the brake calipers be changed to the dual piston type.
