I've been doing this for over a decade, based on the recommendation of of a wiper blade manufacturer.
"glurg"- I like that!

I've had silicone wiper blades on my cars for some time now. I got them from a company who manufactures silicone products. For all I know they make it for the other companies (piaa, etc). Check out www.sspinc.com for some history info, and www.silblade.com to order them. I already have them on my GS, and LOVE them! Not to mention, they will not break up or tear like a standard rubber blade. They also last 5 years or so!

I've been adding RainX in the washer tank for a couple years now. Get the stuff from Wally-World that is specific for this application. It really help with keeping the windshield clean and stops wiper chatter.

I'd take a look at trico neoform beam blades - they've worked the best for me by far. Very quiet and clean. They're the newer-style frameless blade and they have a teflon coating on the blade to keep them from churping. Got them online for about $15.

Tried a couple of different blades in the past and the best one in my opinion are the PIAA silicone wiper blades, had them on every car since. Put a set on over 3 years ago and have never had to change them yet, still no wiper chirps..

Some of us just have to walk through the snow

Just like tires, some work perfect for the first few thousands of miles.....But how 'bout the last half of the tread?
I also had to walk barefoot thru 2-3 foot of snow, etc. Must be something about that, as I agree 100% with that posting.

Following-up on my previous post above...

I discovered something while I was researching blades for the LX570. First, I found an aftermarket rear blade that fits the special rear arm - the only aftermarket I could find: 'Trico Exact Fit Rear Integral Blade'. Secondly, while trying to get a new pair of neoforms for the front, I found out that trico came out with a new blade late last year: 'Trico Tech Beam Blade'. They are super beefy wipers, have a slick off-set mounting system and actually cost less than the neoforms. Love them so far.

Also to add to the OEM Vs. Aftermarket discussion: I use to be a OEM fan and always thought the OEM's lasted longer than the others. Then I realized that the vehicle and the windshield was brand new and non-pitted. Don't forget that the older your vehicle/windshield the more pitted the glass is and that essentially its a big piece of sand paper. The long and short is to look at it as preventative and replace them in the fall and spring - OEM or aftermarket. That's my $.02.
