Oil filter amazement
I recently decided to pamper my 1993 LS400 (177K) with a K&N performance gold oilfilter HP-2009 or HP2009. I also used Castrol GTX start up 5w-30. All I can say is WOW. What a difference in start-up. MY car has never turned over that easily. It has been a cold winter here in Grand Island, NY (outside Buffalo). All of my other cars struggle to turn over on those sub-zero mornings. My car now starts easier than all of my other cars. The oil filter is larger than stock so I use a full 6 quarts at each oil change. I have tried allot of different oil and oilfilter combinations and nothing has made such a drastic improvement during start-up.

For those older cars that 'protest' a cold start.....I suggest getting an engine block heater installed........they are worth their weight in gold.......save fuel, your battery & you pretty much have instant heat when the car is started for defrosting etc. Price is around $50 - $70 range.
