Stock ignition wire too short...
Just replaced plugs, wires, caps, and rotors. Except for the plugs these were the original set with 195K miles on them. The old caps and rotors still looked very good. Probably could have gone another 100K miles.
Had one problem when replacing the wire set. Bought OEM from Sewell. The first harness I got was for a different car alltogether. Daryl overnighted the right one and arranged UPS to pick up the wrong one all at no additional charge. Now that's service!!
However, the correct set had one problem. The ignition source wire on the drivers side was 2 inches shorter than the set that came off and subsequently would not reach. All other wires and numbers from the new set matched the old set except this one wire which was too short . The difference is the original wire plug is printed 6381 and the plug cover is printed with the letter C. The incorrect wire I have says 6382 and B.
I was forced to use the old wire in this one location. I'll contact Sewell on Monday to arrange some sort of exchange.

what kind of car was this ?
what kind of car was this ?
His profile said it's a 95 SC400.
I think the splitted production between 95-96 SC400 has make the difference for the ignition wire.
When i first read this, i thought ES... because ive run into that problem before. However, its entirely possible that you received a plug wire set for the wrong year/production date... call back and verify the correct part number.
