Default GS400 Starter

I just purchased a new starter for my GS400 for roughly $245 and when i got it from the lexus dealer, it was a remanufactured starter. Not to say that something's wrong, but i was expecting a NEW starter and not a remanufactured one. Does this sound right or did others get a new starter for that price?

If anyone would like to shed some light on this, i would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
Kyle

nah.. they rebuild alternators all the time. You saved a lot of money cause I believe alternators from the factory are 500+

That sounds right...a new starter is a bit more.

You could of actually rebuilt the starter yourself for under $20., just by replacing the contacts and the plunger in your old unit. (google Toyota starter contacts replacement) or just check out the link below.
