Default Oil change at 10.5K analysis

I had planned on a 7,500 oil change interval but after a partially torn abdominal muscle, life came to a screeching halt. Anyway the oil went 10,500 miles on Mobil 1 5-30 with .25 quart of make-up at about 7K miles. The car has 78K on it presently. Oil filter-90915-20004 and the air filter was a K&N. (The K&N has been removed.)

Analysis from Blackstone Labs. (the formatting is lost hopefully it is still readable.)

"This is a nice wearing Toyota engine and even though you have run the oil considerably longer than is typical of this type, wear doesn't reflect that. Universal averages show typical wear metals for an oil from this type of engine after about 5,000 miles run on the oil. We found all wear from your engine at around average levels and in the correct balance to show normal mechanical parts inside. Air and oil filtration look okay. The viscosity was slightly high for this type of oil but no fuel, moisture or anti0freeze was found. The TBN was 3.6, showing additive left. "

universal averages

alumnium 3 3
chromium 0 0
iron 6 6
copper 2 5
lead 2 3
tin 1 1
molybdenum 64 43

silver 0 0
titanium 0 0
potassium 0 2
boron 100 59
silicon 16 11
sodium 7 11
calcium 2611 2410
magnesium 96 37
phosphorus 762 745
zinc 876 882
barium 0 1

viscosity 62.6
flashpoint 395
fuel <0.5
antifreze 0
water 0.0
insolubles 0.2

I'll do my next change at 8K and see what the analysis reveals.

pictures of the removed oil filter (the face that goes onto the car) with the oil residue on it would be great, if you have them.

After I tossed the filter, I realized that I should have cut it open to inspect. Next time around.

I finally found this oil analysis report that everyone is talking about showing high silicon because of K&N. However, iron, copper, lead are all fine. Sure more silicon is in the oil but seems to me the sand particles 1) not large enough 2) still not that many to cause bearing or other engine wear.
Great report!!!

another great uoa with toyota and mobil 1. Seems like a marriage made in heaven! I am presuming that this is not the mobil 1 EP, if thats the case then i am surprised the TBN is in the 3's after 10,500 miles. Maybe it has something to do with the make up oil at 7500 miles.

This UOA is more than 2 year old, M1 EP is not avaliable back then. The V8 is much kinder to oil than xMZFE, most M1 can last 10K, makeup oil just adds more TBN insurance.
On silicon increase due to K&N, M1 5w30 virgin oil has 2ppm silicon, many sealant used to seal oil pan uses silicon. So not all silicon are dirt particles. I would be concerned for high silicon AND high metal wear count. Obviously, it is not the case shown in this UOA.
