Engine Code 71
Hey Guys,
My check engine light has been on for a while now and I decided to check the codes today. I got code 71, which means EGR Sytem Malfunction. I have both volumes of the repair manual so I know what to do, but there are lots of options. Has anyone ever had this code light up? If so, what did you check first?

This is comon code for the 1st gen GS300 and SC300 for the EGR restriction or code 71. The problem is the passage tube from the throttle body to the EGR valve is clogged up( the Y-aluminum tube). The Y- tube can be clean, but the problem will come back after a while. The new one is cost around $100.00+labor.
