Hi All - I'm a new member, 1st time poster, and could use some advice: My 2005 ES330 (now at 118K miles) which I bought 2-years ago at 97K miles, is now leaking power steering fluid from the rubber return hose at the arrow below. I'm trying to keep costs down and replace the hose myself with new clamps too. I called a nearby Autozone to buy a short length of hose and was told they don't carry power steering hoses per se, but that I can use fuel line hose instead and which they carry.
Can anyone help out to let me know if fuel line hose is ok in this case?
My understanding is that the power steering return line back to the reservoir is not high-pressure. Please correct me if I am misinformed.
I buy generic hose from a local auto parts store it is designed for power steering and transmission systems, but fuel grade line is fine as well. It's probably multi use type hose.
