Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Lexus LX600
vehicles. In the event of transmission solenoid failure, the communication may fail between the
transmission electronic control unit (ECU) and the engine ECU, resulting in transmission damage.
Consequence:
A damaged transmission can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, a
damaged transmission can leak transmission fluid, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy:
Dealers will update the transmission ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are
expected to be mailed April 25, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-
4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 26LA01.
Dealer completed ECU software update in 90 minutes and vehicle health section has no issues once updated 24 hours later. Got a cup of coffee and car wash then was on my way. Vehicle drives just as good as the day we purchased it.

Thanks for the update, will get ours accomplished before the next long summer trip.
The engine "recall" issue has gone dark it seems. No updates from owners or Lexus for quite some time. There was a promise of resolution in November, then changed to January. Now no further updates. Maybe the issue has gone away?? My 2024 LX 600 has not received any notices so I must be in the clear....

Did you receive notice that your 2024 is part of the recall?
I have a 2024 but am not under the recall since it has a 7/24 build date. Only 2024 models with an April or prior build date were under the recall from my understanding.

My build date was 08/24 so no recall notice.....yet. However, given the frequency of recall "creep", they were changing the units forward in the past. I'm following closely but curious as to why we are hearing crickets from Lexus.
I have a '23 F-Sport and I'm in the recall population. I haven't heard anything regarding a remedy date yet, but the shop foreman at my dealership seems to think April, but who knows.
Interestingly, I was notified of a second recall on this vehicle. They say the sensor for the front passenger air bag isn't compliant.

Early 2024 F-sport. No definitive date from my dealer yet either, though they have acknowledged the truck will be getting a new engine at some point.
Second recall is detailed over on a new thread at IH8MUD.com in the 300-Series chassis sub-forum. Evidently it was just announced this week, and official recall notices are supposed to go out in the next couple of months.
