Default Evaporative Emission Control System

My 2016 LX 570 with 97000 miles: Check Engine light came on but no change in driving or performance. However Adaptive Cruise would not function. Read the code indicating EVAP system. The gas cap is a likely place for a leak of vapor and cheap to replace. A new gas cap fixed it for 3 days then the light came on with the same code. Luckily I have an excellent independent shop. They tested the system and found the canister was the problem. Of course it’s a dealer part, $593. Back on the road. Not bad for 6 years and 97000 miles. I’m not counting tires, brakes, battery and fluids. Great vehicle.
