Default How to I close/fix this gap?

I have a 2014 LX 570 and I couldn't figure out how to close this gap. I pushed in and it seems to close but then two to three minutes later, it opens up again. Any suggestion? This is a used vehicle when I purchased so the previous owner must have done something.

Chances are the clip behind it is bent and not going into the correct slot. Pull it out if you can and realign the clip if it isn't already broken off.

Agree with the OP. you'll need to take the panel out, inspect what's going on, adjust if possible and re-insert.

I opened up this far and it does not look like anything is broken. If I shut it tight, it'll slowly opens up again in about 1 minute or 2. Everything where else on this panel/cover is tight except this spot opens up the gap showing in the initial post.

Bend the plastic up and that should help hold it in place. If not buy some double side tape and do one layover on the side of the clip. Force it in and that should work. It shouldn’t take much force.

Looks like those plastic clips r worn... put a few construction / painters' tape 1-2 wraps and reinsert.

At the moment I used Gorilla Removable Mounting Putty and it seems to hold for now. I'll see how long it last. Thank you for the responses, much appreciated!
