How have LX 570 prices fared?
about to pull the trigger on a clean looking 2011 LX570 base model with 101k on the clock for 27k
Due to the chip crisis, have these gone up a lot? Chip crisis may ease over the next couple years so I would hate to see prices crashing down. Considering my state has only 2 for sale currently, i seem optimistic these will always maintain a premium.

I’ve been watching these prices since mid 2021. They certainly peaked, and are falling some. However I am beginning to wonder if the 200 series will stay higher than they were a couple of years ago for the following reasons:
1. Volume for LX and LC have been declining from higher levels in 2010-2015. Last year of LC was about 3k and 2021 LX maybe 4K.
2. No more LC here in states.
3. New 2022 LX equipped with AHC to duplicate 2021 3-row is about 103 - 106k vs 93-96k for older. 2-row was 89K. Volume for new still not there…maybe in 2025.
4. There is for now, concern about v6 to v8, although I think it is overstated. I’m sure v6 will be reliable, but you can’t beat the 3UR it’s bulllet-proof.
Maybe they have long-term pricing characteristics (to a lesser degree) of 911’s? Ultimately there is a finite number of LX and LC. Whether modded for heavy overland, or stock, they usually remain with the same owner for years…essentially taking them out of circulation.
I’m thinking the limited long-term inventory will help somewhat.

Don't mean to highjack the thread, but speaking of LX values, I am in the middle of deciding whether to sell my 19 RCF and get a 17 LX570. The impending price drop scares me and I think the LX will hold value better. Plus the RCF has no room whatsoever. Any thoughts are appreciated

Interestingly enough, i traded in 15 RCF for 17 LX570 back in April, 2021. Only did it for my growing family. 15 GX460 wasn’t big enough to haul 3 little kids. I purchased RCF back in July, 2019 and having it owned for little less than 24 months, i lost $1k-$2k at trade-in value. Recently, i had my LX570 appraised for possible trade in (after owning it for 15 months), my offer was $4k below my purchase price. Based on my experience, i won’t say LX570 holds value better. It all depends on where you live. If you’re making a decision based on resale value, i don’t think you’ll get a firm response as so many variables can change that.

I agree. To me, if likely for extended ownership, what matters most if you think the price is fair (when you purchase it). Resale matters less. While I think the resale will probably be good, for me what matters most is if I can keep it, drive it, and reasonable maintain it. From this standpoint, the LX is a hands down winner.
