I hit a truck and cracked the out side mirror cover RH on my 2014 LX. Any ideas on the part number for the cover.. Lexus dealer wants to sell the whole assembly for $1299 plus tax. But that cover is not available as a separate part. Any ideas?
You could buy and install a nice pair of towing mirrors for less than replacing the one that's broken. I ordered mine from Australia and paid around $600, including shipping. They are an easy install, using the OEM mirror mount holes, and have a wiring harness that plugs right into the Lexus one so that the tow mirrors use the same adjustment controls alreay there. No body work, painting, and such - just pull the door panels, unbolt the old mirrors, bolt on the new ones, plug in the wiring harnesses, and pop the panels back in place.
The Australian company now has a USA site.
BTW, if you go the single OEM mirror route, consider doing the install yourself. It is very straightforward, and the Clearview web site has videos that will walk you through it. It took me about an hour to replace the first mirror, and about 20 minutes to do the other side. Lexus will likely really gouge you on the book labor hours.
I did the same thing its very easy to install yourself , buy the cover it comes with the light attached; its about an 30 mins job. I think the cover was about 90 bucks off Lexus parts.
you have the pull out the mirror the replace the assembly the hardest part is to remove that everything else is easy.
I followed this guy ; its basically the same thing, The part is common with the GX460 as well.
"Easy" may be the understatement of the year. I've got 2 sets from HF and probably 3-4 more from Amazon or Ebay. They're a necessity for working on your truck without breaking a tiny piece of molding that runs north of $50 to replace. Also not a bad idea to swab the plastic tabs (male side) before reassembly.
