There was a way on my 2004 LX470 to override the speed sensor by going into a hidden screen (one of the Nav screens had hidden buttons on it) and pressing/holding the Override button. Then I could use the full nav while driving, for example enter in a new address, etc. This is nice as usually I have a passenger who can do this while I drive, without it I have to pull over and stop to enter a new address even though my wife sitting next to me was perfectly capable of doing so. Anyone know how to do this (without changing anything physical, no cutting wires, etc. - just an override through the Nav that lasts until you turn off the car) on the LX570?
I remember this on my LX470 nav system and it was nice to be able to over ride the system while driving to make NAV changes.
I am sure that LX570 has a "back door", too! We just need some one to find it. I might spend a little time running my fingers over the non-button areas this weekend! <vbg>
correct, so far there is no back door, no hidden manual. getting the override module is the only option. the lx570 is very different from lx470, the whole system has been changed
I have "fingered" my screen on all pages and can not find anything hidden like my LX470.
I am betting that there is a way to over ride the speend sensor but getting to it is much more complicated than the LX470. The LX570 system is way more advanced which would allow Lexus to really make it hard to over ride.
Its been a while since I've been posting and been out of the loop.
Anyone have any luck with an override screen to be able to type in navi while driving (without a module?)
I'm thinking still "no" but just wanted to bring it up to see if anyone struck gold with it.
I have no doubt that there IS a way, Lexus has just done a little better at hiding it. Likely some other button on the dash would need to come into play that we do not know about. I remember when I had to reset my service msg, it was not the same as it used to be. The 570 has a little more computer power built into it, allowing Lexus to do better at hiding stuff from us.
I actually saw this done on my LX570 ... just can't remember/reproduce how it was done. Trying to find out now. I do remember that the override wasn't in there, but there were other useful settings in there such as microphone volume for the bluetooth.
Anyone know how to get to that hidden screen on the LX570?
