Default Aftern Rain Water inside

Hi all,

Did anyone experienced problem with rain water inside? After a heavy rain my lights were going on and off. After opening the driver side doors I notice wet carpet on left side just under the hood opener and also cables wet under the steering wheel and the left side.
Any idea what could have cause this?

Sounds like your sunroof gutters are plugged.

Thank you for the response. After doing some research online, I opened the moonroof and, unfortunately, found standing water inside.

At this point, I have to wait for the electronics to fully dry out. So far, the interior lights and electrical systems have been acting erratically.

I’m honestly surprised Lexus didn’t come up with a better design solution for the LX, especially considering it’s a premium vehicle. At the very least, moonroof drain cleaning should probably be included as part of the regular maintenance schedule at the dealer.

It is actually a common problem for all cars with moonroofs. I have not had a gutter plug but learned about them from The Car Care Nut. It freaked me out so I have had the gutters cleaned. Look on Youtube at Car Care Nut and search for his video that goes over this as a maintenance item. It is easy to do it yourself and he shows how. I have learned alot from his YT channel.
