Default 2018 LX 570 Tire Recommendstions

Hi

i need to replace my 285/50/20 tires on my LX. The car has 80,000 miles and I’m on my second set of the OE Michelin Lattitude Tour HP which I like very much but Michelin no longer makes that size and I do not want to change the wheel size.

Michelin recommends the LTX MS/2. They’re supposed to last a bit longer (my current tires are at 45,000 miles). Does anyone have experience with these or other recommendations?

The car is never off road, My priorities are 1) smooth quiet highway ride 2) very good wet & dry handling and braking 3) decent snow performance 2-4 inches 4) decent tread wear 45-50,000 miles.

I’ve always had good luck with Michelin tires but am interested in other experiences (good & bad) that you’ve had with tires for this car.

Thanks

Myself and many other on the Mud forum run the Michelin LTX MS/2 tires and are very pleased with them.

Recently replaced the original Dunlops on my 2018 LX570 with the Michelin Defender MS/2. No issues here and the ride is quite good. They look beefier than the Dunlops.

I also went to Mich Defenders. Great tire for the LX. I do mostly highway driving with some towing. I’ve been able to get terrific miles out of them. On my 2nd set.

I noticed a significant improvement in wet conditions over stock. Both braking and turning.

I'm looking to replace tires soon on my 2017 LX. Is it stupid to replace all 5, since the spare is likely a tire that has been there since 2016? I know some people do 5 tire rotations but I don't know if the dealers put up with such requests.

Sadly I don't do any of my own work anymore so I'd be at the mercy of a tire shop or dealer to do it.

Once I found a matching wheel, I bought a 5th Michelin so that I could do a 5 wheel rotation. Tired of throwing away new spare tires that never touch the ground. And you get 20% more life out of your tires.
I have never found a place that had an issue doing a 5 wheel rotation.

Default What's the largest tire size for stock wheels?

So, since installing the supercharger and getting everything tuned and dialed in, traction from the 285/70/20's has been an issue. Anyone know what size I can go up to on these stock rims? I had aftermarket rims an 305s on my Sequoia, but they were too big and rubbed on the stock rims for the 570.

I switched to the LTX M/S 2 last fall on my 2018 LX two row, so same wheel size as yours. I've been very happy with them compared to the prior Latitude's. I encounter deeper snow than you will, and have driven on unpaved mountain roads in Colorado (not really off roading). Ride is quiet and smooth. I have been pleased with handling in rain, snow, and on ice. No long trips since I bought these tires last year, so I can't speak to how long they'll last.
