Default Replace Winshield

We had a rock hit our windshield several days ago and the crack has gone from 6 inches to 12+ inches. We have an appointment next week and have requested a OEM Windshield. Has anyone had any experience with this. Thanks!

I had it with my previous GX. the crack was 1 inch and a half. It didn't grow until 4 years later. then I got it replaced. the OEM original costs a lot. so I didn't go with OEM and paid 500$ deductible only. If I went with OEM that would be 2000$. It's up to you.

We were fortunate to have windshield insurance. Since then we have replaced it twice already. $100 deductible. OEM glass replacement at dealer was invoiced about $4500.

State Farm would not cover an OEM. It was going to be $500 plus another $1100 for the glass through Safelite.
I found a local highly rated shop. The OEM windshields for most of the LX series are owned by Safelite. Even if you order from a dealer it will likely come from Safelite.
I had a Fuyao windshield installed. There is zero distortion in the glass. The only thing it didn't come with was the windshield wiper heater wires and honestly I didn't even know I had that function until later. I paid out of pocket and the total price was $375 installed. No leaks or whistling. I will have another installed when this one cracks again.

Fuyao is made in China. the quality is not bad at all. but it is not the Lexus Factory one. my GX's windshield was replaced by safelite and it was Fuyao.
my LX 570 still has the original manufacture windshield. It's made in Japan. if you order from dealer, check where it is made.
