I use the Carmount. Seems to hold the phone quite well and mostly out of the way of things.

 

I use the proclip Lexus seried console mount.
i will have to look up my exact model
i use the right side one, since my long legs were bumping against the one on the left (drivers) side of the consol. it clips on, and never falls off. you have to add an adapter for your specific phone.

i use my cup holders for..drinks, so i did not want anything that took up a cupholder space

 

Inspired by Prime Day, I’m curious if anyone has one they like. Would prefer it mounts to the vent (no suction, no cup holder deals) and does not require a special case (magnet, etc.) for my phone. I have an iPhone, if it matters. Thanks!

 

Go on Amazon and find one. I'm sure there are hundreds to choose from lol

 

Super helpful advice. Except I’ve bought and returned two already because they don’t work with the vent shape/config. So rather than continuing to waste money and plastic, I thought I’d ask.

I've used this over 6 months and very happy with it.

 

As much as I hate losing one cupholder space, this setup works better for me because the windshield holder used to come crashing down every once in a while in TX heat and plus the cellphone was always exposed to the sun and was hot like hell when I took it off the mount. Cupholder setup is very secure and puts the phone at my fingertips.
