Ok this is the 2nd one I've broken in 2 yrs. Where can I find another OEM cd player for 1998 lx470?

It went like this. Playing a song and then I decided to eject the cd. It made a whirrring sound as if in the process of ejecting but it continues making the sound but nothing ejects. So I start pressing buttons to play the other CDs. Same sound again and now none of the CDs play.

Whenever I turn the car on, the whirring of the cd player goes on and then stops after a few minutes.

I know there are many aftermarket systems available but is it possible to replace just the cd deck with anybrand player and leave the rest as is?

My gf is pissed after I admitted I broke it again.

Need some help and advice before things get outta hand. Thanks anyone...?

Did you mean 98' LX470? I think they're interchangeable with the LC.

YEAH you can replace the deck. Years ago I put the wiring diagram on here. The shops will tell you that all the speakers must be rewired to replace the factory head-unit. Using the diagram I placed on this site, you keep the factory speakers and amps in tact. However, you will need some custom work to fill face void or not. You can fit a 7" touch screen in there using the metal bracket off the factory. The replace cost for the factory unit in Missouri is $1,200. Good luck.
