Default LX470 2000 Buzzer Problem

When the key is turned on, a buzzer goes off and will not go off even when seatbelts are fastened. Took to dealership. Cost to repair is $1500.00. Dealer said the entire fuse panel, wiring harness needs to be replaced. It is associated with the outside folding mirrors. (Slight malfunction of mirrors according to the dealer.) No affect on driving. I simply want the buzzer to stop. I am not interested in getting this fixed. Can anyone offer any advice on how to stop the buzzer without creating a further problem? He also said the the mirrors tried to fold in via the computer. The action stuck in the computer creating the buzz. Therefore he needs to replace everything. I asked him why he could not cut the buzzer wire since the mirrors would not be a safety issue. He said he didn't know where the buzzers were located since they are all over the Lexus.

You said it's associated with the mirrors. Did you try pulling the fuse for the mirrors?

$1500 - That's a Lexus standard answer.

If it's a computer issue then why the fuse box. You should be able to disconnect the main battery for a few minutes and reset any faulty in the convenience ECU. if it's a fault in the fuse box you may indeed be able to pull the mirror fuse and be done.
