anybody know if the 97 lx450 is a timing chain like the toyota landcruiser. anybody have any problems with the lx450, my neighbor is selling his lx450 for $5000-everything is leaking underneath,so i wanted to find out what kind of problems i can look for,thanks

 

LX450 has a timing chain. I think the biggest repair jobs for the LX450 are 1) head gasket issue and 2) birfield job. Many seem to have a little bit a of a rear main seal leak but not excessive. If excessive, I would really look into that before buying. But if minor leak, $5k would be an excellent deal.
