My 97 ls 400 is leaking oil and it is everywhere i am not sure if it is a crank seal leak or it is leaking somewhere from top any guesses what could possibly can go wrong???

If the crank seal is bad then it could be replaceable ? Or i need buy another motor?

From the top there are two possibilities, camshaft seal or valve cover gasket. Crankshaft seal is behind the crank pulley, which is closer to the ground than the valve cover gasket and camshaft seal. Open the hood, start the car and get flash light and locate the leak.
And if any of these seals are bad then the only possible fix, is to replace the engine.
I am joking all the seals are replaceable and there are OEM parts available.

This happened on my 97' LS shortly after purchasing it at 253k, I think 2k miles later I had an oily mess on my hands. Don't let it get really bad, otherwise it'll coat your timing belt in oil and you'll be forced to basically do a TB/WP change. But in order to replace it, you'll have to remove the belt regardless so its best to do the belt anyways for preventative maint.

yes seal is replaceable and could very well be the lower crank seal.
the upper cam seals also need replacing but don't leak as strongly.
I would replace all 3 seals together which do require removal of the timing belt.
