Can anyone help me in telling me how to remove the sidesteps on the LX470.

Is it easy to do!

Thanks

I need help!

1loudlx was right, the amount of dust and mud particles is horrific, lol.

How do you take off the 2 bolts on the end of the sidestep?

Do you need a special type of tool to reach in there?

The two middle brackets where easy but the sides are pretty hard to reach into.

Thanks

i honestly dont remember the specifics, but i know i just used a wrench or socket and took all the brackets off where they mount to the body. I did it at 3am when i was bored like two years ago, im a little rusty on the specifics.

Maybe Jim Chow with his FSM or post on 'mud. It didnt take long but i do remember some bolts being a pita to get out.

The left is done, that was very easy but the front right on the other sidestep, omg, i'll guess I'll play with it 2morrow!

its a night and day difference, especially when in high.

I might get the slee rock-sliders in a couple of weeks!

Thanks

yeah, nowhere to stand!

Does it bother you the way the bodypaneling on the corners by the wheels looks like there is something missing? I think the landcruisers w/o the running boards pull of the look better then the LX, but hey....you actually need rock rails.

I did it, that right front bolt was a pita, but very easy!

I prefer it without the sidesteps, doesn't look handicapped anymore.
