2006 lx470 problem
This morning when i started my 2006 lx470 i had this symbol ((!)) come on the dash
The manual states that if my parking brake is off then to contact the dealer immediatly
1600 miles on the truck and already a problem
Do you think i should be concerned about this symbol when i go to the dealer

The manual (same ones the techs use) tells one to check specific thing in a certain order. First items are to check the parking brake release switch (in the center console) and the brake fluid level switch (in the fluid resevoir). If those are okay, check w/ the OBDII or Lexus hand tester if there's an ABS code. If so, that is the problem (there are like 2 pages of ABS codes). Otherwise, there are other things to try. That's probably why the owner's manual says to bring it to the dealer! :-) But make sure the brakes work before you drive! And, yes, whenever something is up w/ the brake system, you should be concerned! It could be as simple as the person doing the vehicle prep didn't fill the brake fluid resevoir to the proper level on a new vehicle (it'll set off the sensor, which illuminates the dash light). On an old vehicle, one might suspect a leak in the brake system if the fluid level drops suddenly, but not at 1600 miles or even at 60K mi on a Lexus.
we are having a disagreemnt down at the dealer
thanks

The manuals are at home. Besides, they're huge...vol 1 & 2 are the size of 3" thick phone books. What did the dealer say it was? I forgot to mention my manuals are for my '03LX, but I'd be surprised it there was any difference in the brake systems. The guy you really want to talk to at the dealer is the technician rather than the service "manager". The tech is the guy who's going to be downloading diagnostic codes w/ the OBD2 computer.
