Default Death by Blower Motor

Usually frequent the LS400 Forum.

Cousin has a strange problem. A family of rats apparently started to make a home in the confines of the Blower Motor of his 2005 LX470. Park Place is now up to $1600.00 dollars in charges in replacing the motor & cleaning the vents. He swears the damn thing still smells.

Anyone ever hear of anything like this or have a solution?

I had a snake settle in right on top of my motor, when I went to start it... well... alot of broken belts.

Same thing happened to my aunt, rats settled in in a car she had sitting for almost a year.

Don't think your getting the picture here. The rat family did not invade the AC System The product you are recommending would indeed take care of the smell in a sealed AC system. However your AC System & Heater use the blower motor to force air into the cabin.

The rat family made there home in the blower motor. Post AC system, get it? You would still be blowing fresh air across the scene of festering rat corpse after having met a blender.

Lexus Tech replaced the blower motor housing & twice cleaned all the ductwork & vents as best they could.

There recommendation to prevent future occurences was some kind of stay fresh sheet you add to laundry in the engine compartment.

F***ng priceless!!
