Default Stuck vent motors

Whenever I change my vent position to anything away from the one that just points at your face, i can hear the vent motor moving and then it gets stuck on somthing because the motor moves and then there is a click, followed by the motor moving again and another click. It goes on continuously. The only time it stops is when i put it back in the forward position. Does anybody else have this problem? I had this problem occur but the sound stopped shortly so i didnt think it was much. Please help. Thanks. LS_4Will

No, I do not have that problem. (Yet). It sounds like something has broken and it is not allowing the motor to change the mode. I am sure someone else here will have a lot more information.

From the description of your car- your car is similar to my aunts car. She also has a black, with tan leather 1990 LS400. Her car had about 50-60K when my uncle bought it for her in the late 1990s from their local Lexus dealer where they live in eastern North Carolina. Now I think it has about 170-180K.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply Shaffer. My car has about 160k but it says 109k on the odo cause the previous owner rolled it back. My vents still move into position, they just wont get completely situated. Where are the motor(s) located because I would like to take a look? Also, Should I be changing my cabin filter now after all those miles? Thanks. LS_4Will.
