I've noticed some changes in the 05 model compared to the 01. noticeably the following and I am wondering if they can be replicated on a 01 model.
1. the front grill is chrome
2. the rear backup white lights around the license plate
3. additional smaller round fog lamps

First off the smaller round foglamps are actually associated with the night vision feature.

In addition are you only referring to cosmetic changes or also functional and mechanical changes which include:

* 5spd transmission
* Updated interior with an updated navigation system which also includes voice activation and a backup camera
* 18" wheels
* Steering wheel mounted audio controls

There's probably more, but that's a start.

 

in the rear of the LX what are those additional white lights for? u see the ones beside the license place and then ones besides the signal lights?

 

There's also the different guages, available rear seat entertainment system, rear audio controls, kick *** "neon" looking lights in the running boards, rain sensing windshield wipers, ML stereo, steering wheel audio/phone/voice NAV controls. Very nice brushed metal looking accents on the vents and throughout the interior as well as the different shifter gate. As electro992 said, the 18" wheels really make a nice improvement. I had a 2000 LX and it was perfect. I now have a 2005 and it's perfect+.

 

Actually the kick *** "neon" looking lights on the running board and ML stereo are in the 2001 models aswell.

 

The 2003+ LX has the most beautiful dash I have ever seen. My wife and I test drove one and we were sold; too bad we're not in the market for another year.

 

They are the reverse lights I believe.

I love the LX....but I have absolutely no legitiamte reason to buy one. I work in the city and don't have any kids. Nor do I have a boat or anything to tow.

But it is so beautiful to drive....I liked it much more than my GS, believe it or not.
