Default Its the Gas silly!!

Anyone having issuse getting near the stated MPG for the LS500 need to look at where they purchase gas. Apparenty not all gas is the same even with the same octane rating i was getting very bad MPG of about 14 to 15 mpg and was wondering what the issues was but also noticed tht i would get better mileage some times and some not depending on where i filled up . after some time i noticed that the branded stations like Mobil ,Shell and so on i got close to the recommended mileage of 17 mph city driving . Hope this helps someone.

I'm getting 31-33 mpg on the freeway using the cheapest Top Tier Gas like Valero or Sinclair.

You would be stupid to not use Top Tier gas if it exists in your area. It contains additives to help keep your engine running right. I have never not used TT gas in my LS500.

Also, avoid out of the way gas stations that aren't busy compared to newer ones near the highway. Fresher fuel is better too (higher volume stations).

i have not noticed but here’s another data point for you. i averaged only 17mpg with my last tank in mixed city/highway cruising, mostly city
$5.99/gal at costco here in norcal.

lucky for me, i don’t need a daily driver as an “old retired guy”. 😁

Default Haven't had gas issues

I have a 2022 LS500 used almost exclusively for highway travel. I usually fill up at Sams Club or Flying J and get 29-30 mpg

23 or so with city/hwy mix. 2018. Mostly Exxon premium. Sometimes Shell.

I never got anywhere close to 23 even in Eco Mode when it was completely stock. I am in Texas and we get 93 octane premium

With Air intakes, I was getting 16 mpg avg, and with my Tom's power box, I actually get even better mpg, about 17-18 mpg.

I dont drive crazy either and I usually keep it in ECO mode lately. :\

I traded my LS500 in for a new ES hybrid, now I get 44 MPG (US) without even trying... and I can use regular gas... LOL

In case you're wondering, the ES is 80% of the LS in terms of features and comfort but 50% of the price (approx).

I had an 2013 ES and loved it, yes its similar to the LS in many ways but the LS just takes everything to a higher level without a doubt. If money and mpg's were a concern yes the ES would be a good option.

And 10% of the performance..... And the ES has an additional feature called uncontrollable torque steer.
