Default Chipped Windshield

Well guess it happened to me today, sadly not cracked actually wish it was cracked at least it would be replaced for free. What are the next steps to prevent it from beginning to crack. Lady traveling in slow lane on cellphone went into the break down lane. Thought I was 4 car lengths away guess that wasn't enough.

Go to a windshield repair place. They will use suction/pressure to pull clear epoxy into the chip. From what I've heard some places are better than others, so I'd get a referral.

I have one like that in my car, similar position, and it bothered me when I first got the car, but now I hardly notice it.

A few years ago I had a small chip on my windshield and Safelite fixed it for me with epoxy. It will still be visible if you look for it, but it protects the windshield from further spider cracks, etc.

I would just leave it.

You'll probably end up with another chip next week!

well this sucks but glass didn’t crack which means repair is the only option. Unless it begins to crack, and I would def get Orem with car being so new, don’t think they have aftermarket windshields yet.

I wish I could but it annoys me now, insurance is covering it.

Definitely do not leave it, it could get worse and necessitate replacement.

Go to Phillips Auto Glass on Main St. in Waltham. Call ahead and make sure Robbie is there. In the past two years he's repaired four chips on our cars. He does excellent work. I got the recommendation from a repair shop owner who only uses him for windshield work.

Robbie was on vacation, so whoever did it was not really good as it still shows clearly, it is filled up a little but yea looks like they didn’t keep the Uv light on long enough.

Ah, too bad. Maybe you can take it by sometime when Robbie is there and see if he can do anything. Probably what's done is done, but you never know.
