After turning on my accessory 3 times and rolling down the windows and up 2 times I was greeted with a 2022 LS 500 with 26000 miles on it that wouldn't start, dead battery.
So the question occurred to me, does anyone know what type of batteries we have in these cars? are they AGM batteries and what kind of batt life are 5th gen Ls 500 owners experiencing?
are these cars powerhogs?
any thoughts?

My 2020 LS500 came with a lead acid battery. I replaced it at about 51 months.

AGM batteries in my Miatas lasted 8-10 years.
AGM battery in my F150 only about 4 years.
Not sure why car battery life today is so short except that we are now loaded with electronics.
You would think that the trunk mounted LS500 battery would last longer.

Battery from my 2019 is still going strong from the factory

 

My battery wasn’t dead, but voltage was down to 12.1 volts and we had a 2,000 mile trip planned. I believe voltage should be in the range of 12.8 volts for a 100% healthy battery. Lots of electronics on our cars, so I didn’t want to get stranded in the middle of Kansas in December.

Yes they work fine, I jumped mine recently because my factory battery was dying. I replaced it with H7 AGM battery from Costco.

Curious what you had to pay for the agm battery from costco?
I have an AGM battery in my Porsche.And it lasts quite a bit longer than the traditional battery.
Do you know if the original battery in your LS 500 was an AGM battery?

I'm not too sure if the original was AGM, but I'll assume it was. I bought the interstate H7 AGM for 180 plus 15 core charge.

Costco vs Walmart.

Costco is prorated warranty for 36 months and Walmart is free replacement for 48 months. Walmart is free replacement even if price is higher at no cost. Costco gives refund then have to pay current price for battery. You decide!

Not sure but from my experience and AGM battery last considerably longer.
