Default LS500 Cruise control

Hi everybody, I hope your week is off to a good start!
I have a 2022 LS 500 and i wouldlike to know if there is is anyway to have the cruise control stay on all the time?
Currently, I have to hold the cruise button each time I start the car, and then I have to hold it to get to the second phase of cruise control, which is the one I prefer to use.
With my 2002 volkswagen beetle I can leave the cruise on all the time. Just turn the cruise switch on and forget about it. Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Happy motoring!

Default Stalk Switch

Lexus should have kept the stalk cruise control like on my ‘02 LS430. Simple to use, on-off button on the end of the stalk, tap up or down to change setting. Works flawlessly.

It was a universal control actually. I remember it on my 1995 Camry XLE. Unfortunately the current cruise control is more than cruise control in the new car..

Default Thanks for the empathy

Thanks Bigoofy for the empathy!
yes it's pretty sad when so many other cars Including my 2 other cars, I can leave the cruise control on all the time. And this one I have to set it everytime, that among other things must be set, every time i get into the car.
But then, I reckon heaven is not on earth!

Best,

Every toyota ive been in Ls430, corolla, camery, sc430, and my 2014 LS460, you had to turn on the cruise control every time. And for the LS460 you had to hold it down to change to a normal cruise control. (Not radar). Seems like it's just what toyota does. Each OEM does cruise controls differently.

if you have access to Toyota Techstream there might *might* be an option to have it on when the vehicle starts. But I've never looked for it.

Agree. I own a Honda Pilot that does allow 'always on' cruise control. Just press the 'set' button on the steering wheel and go.

I suspect perhaps the 2024 is different from the 2022 but in mine, when the car starts up, the radar cruise mode is ready to go and I just have to tap the engage button (whatever toyota calls it... activate, some strange icon).

But I also, like you, prefer the regular cruise, and I have to select that every time I get in the car. It always defaults back to radar mode.

I've gotten pretty good at just starting the car and I know the tap sequence now.

But my F150 has radar cruise and regular cruise and I can tell Sync to default to no-radar and it remembers my choice. Much better setup.

Probably my biggest complaint with Toyota/Lexus is the tech integration. Just always seems clunky vs other manufacturers.
