Default comma ai and ls500 reliability question

hi guys, does anyone use comma ai with their LS460 or LS500? and how has the reliability been for LS500? are these still 200k+ mile cars with fluid changes or too early to tell?

Comma ai is not compatible with any LS model. You really going to trust your life and car to some off the shelf untested software?

As to reliability, Toyota makes very reliable vehicles on average. Hell, my Honda Pilot has 200k miles. I wouldn't be concerned.

Although The LS 500 is not listed, it should work. It uses the same system as the ES, LC etc. Your car needs LTA (not LDA or LKA) Even the Canbus connectors are compatible.

The mfg doesn't list it as compatible. That's enough for me. You run into me using that with your LS and I'm going to bury you in legal proceedings.

thank you. that's the thread i was reading. wanted to get some feedback here. may have to stick with ES.

without comma would you say lexus ls500 level2 assistant programs work well in long trips? all freeway. i want it to be hands off for long stretches minus few times i have to touch the wheels or times i have to let the car know I'm not asleep

per the IIHS the Lexus LS system won. However I don't think it will let you do what you are describing. The Toyota/Lexus system has you needing to pay attention at all times.

I think Mercedes has an actual Level 3 (no input required )driving package on some of their cars now. But maybe that's just in stop and go traffic.

Edit: comma ai 100% wont work with a ls460. Its driving assistance isn't smart enough.

thanks. merc level 3 is only for speed under 40mph... doesnt work for me unfortunately. comma is the closest thing i can get to maybe lv2.5 on all freeways. still needs attention but seems like it's working well based on reddit discussions.. think I'm sorta boxed into ES. LS is preferred but seems more uncharted territory

My 2019 LS500 drives like a drunk person bobbing between the lines.
Better than my 2020 GS did, but not much better. Depends on the road.
I like it on a two lane road at lower speeds or thru traffic.
If im driving, im paying attention to what im doing.
When the thing is one I have to keep my hand on the wheel and pay attention to it and the road.
Not sure this is really plus yet.
I gather the newer 2021 refresh was an improvement.

Do you have LTA, the version with the two camera's behind the rear view mirror? Mine follows the road perfectly.

Mine follows near perfectly as well. I also have the stereo camera's behind the RVM which comes with the Lexus Safety System + Advanced Package (Added Option).

Cars w/o the +Advanced Package (added option) have the single cameras called Lane Keep Assist (LKA) vs Land Trace Assist (LTA). Stands to reason that the stereo cameras would perform added features and improved functionality.
