More power in LS500
I think it's easiest to change maps on a turbo unit, but you won't get much out of it. Do you know of anyone who, for example, changed the turbines to bigger ones?
I'm also wondering which stock components are ready for a significant increase in power and which certainly won't. I'm talking about the gearbox, the transmission, the axles, the brakes.
"Hey, how is the road feel on those 33's?"
"oh man, the car rides like stock! Handles the bumps great and no road noise"
"really?"
"Thats right, they are not runflats!!!"!
"Do you keep a spare tire in the boot?"
"Not enough room, the bank of amps and subwoofers take it all up!"
"You added to the ML system"?
"Ripped it out, it was crap! Sure the detail was there but no bone jarring bass!
"for hip hop?"
"Nope, Im into death metal! I have the luxury package with the origami pleats that the crystal. " my mother likes the massaging seats in the back but her spiked bra keeps popping the air blatters!"She keeps snuffing out her cigarettes on the crystal. Thinks its an ashtray"
The mod dream.
Once upon a time I had a 2007 BMW530i, with MT. None sport. Read the Msport version in that year made rear passangers car sick due to adjusting suspension.
They'd give me loaners and try to upsale me. I leased that car, but I really fell in love with a non turbo 328 coupe, sport suspension, low to ground, staggered wheels, MT, and nice sport seats without the boy racer trim that came with subsequent models.
But it was a bit small after 5 years, so I got a 2013 535i (Turbo), Msport with MT also. Lovely car, but felt "big". I thought about doing all knids of things that would make it "sporty, more fun" but it would compromise the ride quality.
Really I wanted my 3 series back. I did not like the newer 3 series. It got big, lots of plastic bits and sport had colors and trim I did not like.
So I got a GS350 AWD Fsport. Grand touring, did everything very well, nothing exceptional which made it a great car! It took about a year but I really liked it.
I sold it because dealer made me an offer I could not refuse. I modified my GS to an LS. Faster, better seats, better leather, better sound, and totally modern interior vs. my 2020 GS! Apple Car play LOL!!!!!!
Now I drive this monster LS500. Its fast, but I don't feel it. The engine growls, but it needs to be fed in. Nobody else can hear it. Nobody really gives a **** either. Besides, that MS sound system is fantastic!
The seats, super comfy. Road feel? I have run flats. Why do I pay all this money and want to feel the road? The road sucks.
I have a sports car toy thing for the "weekend". We gonna sell it. We had our fun. Might be cheaper to get a toy then mod and change the character of the car if you want more fun car!
I get the F-sport option for those that want that. Might be a very good compromise to what the car is for those that want fun.
Im really content with the power of this car. I find Im not in so much a hurry either a lot of the time. This car is just really nice to hang out in. Why rush? LOL........
