Anyone here try installing a Comma 2 or Comma 3 self driving module into their LS 500? Per Comma.ai webpage any Toyota or Lexus with "Any car that has Toyota/Lexus Safety Sense with "Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA)" and/or "Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)" will work. Note that LDA without Steering Assist will not work. These features come standard on most newer models."
So if you have a LS500 with the "Lexus Safety System+ Advanced" package it should work? Also makes me wonder if the 460's with Lane Keep Assist would work as well but I suspect no because I think the 460's system was a weird addition.

Really cool technology! Thanks for posting this.
In researching the compatibility section of their web page in link below they don't list the LS as supported.
Did you just assume it was supported?
It should work with the LS 500(h), our cars have standard Toyota connectors so you need the Toyota or Lexus harness, they are all the same.
The LS is probably not tested, thats why its not on the list.
And as far as i can see your car needs LTA (two cameras behind the mirror) not LKA or LDA with only one camera.
(note: on the left is my dashcam, has nothing to do with LTA.)
@PGA71 no I'm under the idea that it "might" be supported only if you LS500 has the "Lexus Safety System+ Advanced" option. Then in theory, with the right harness it should work. The Comma AI software stack will adapt to whatever car you put it in. I think their team does some planning per car model/type. They support the 2019+ ES fully so I'd imagine the LS500 drives the same in their physics model. I'm not at the LS500 level yet, just got a 2014 LS460 right now. But planning ahead. It would be so cool to have a LS500 with the Comma 3.
Don't do it, man. When you have an accident with this equipment in the car (good luck proving that it wasn't engaged at the time of the accident), the jury is going to lock you up for at least negligent homicide, and give all of your present and future wealth to the kid's family, plus legal fees of course. It's just not worth the risk. You still have to be in the car, just drive it yourself.
@Higgie Did you have your passenger seat repaired or replaced? There are two slits coming down from the head rest posts that don't match the drivers side seat.
On my car, all seats look like the drivers's side without those slits.
Maybe you have upgraded interior with only driver's side massage seat which I have not seen?
Either way, surprised they do not match.

No, this original, the passengers side seat can fold to make room for the rear passenger. This is to fold the headrest.
My car is the most luxurious "President" version. My car was when new €160.000.-- (Approx $190.000.-- back in 2018)
