2007 LS460L used Nav unit replacement
It looks like my navigation/climate controls screen went out of my 2007 Lexus Ls460L. At first the screen was going on and off intermittently but now its has completely went blank. Seems like all the ac buttons below it still function okay but nothing on the screen. Not sure if the LCD screen just went bad or unit is bad. I've seen some used Navigation units on Ebay for a couple hundred bucks but just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem, and if its just a simple swap of a used unit in or if something else needs to be done during the process to make it work.
Any feedback would be awesome Thanks in advance!!

I will call them tomorrow and try to get a quote but the website showing repairs up to $1200, I've seen some used units for around $300-$400. Has anybody ever done a swap with a used unit, is it just plug and play?
That's true about Ebay. Buying a used part that is know to have higher than normal failure rates is a gamble. A used unit may be older than the current unit and be months away from an issue. The repair shops thoroughly inspect for all issues.

I tried to replace the hard rive on mine with a used one from Ebay and it did not work, then I have sent them the whole unit and they fixed it, I didn't remember exactly but it was something around $650 a while ago....

Another option you may want to consider is this. Probably more then you want to spend but will give much more functionality.

Have you tried this unit? While these "Chinese" units may be OK for some car models, I've read several reviews about them not working properly on LS and other low production models.
I finally decided to just buy a used one from Ebay for $380. It was a direct plug and play and now works perfect in case anyone else on this forum was thinking to do the same. Thanks everyone for their input.
