Bench testing Information Navigation Display screen
I'd like to purchase a used navigation display screen for my 2007 Lexus LS460. However, before I disassemble my dash to pull my existing screen, I want to learn how to bench test a replacement unit. Specifically, what I mean is: when I receive a replacement navigation display unit, I want to power the unit on my work bench using an external power supply to verify that the replacement unit works before I disassemble my dash to remove the old unit and replace with the new unit. I'm attaching a picture found from the internet of the back of a replacement display unit. My questions are: can anyone educate me about which pins on the back of the unit should be connected to power and ground in order to test the unit on my workbench? What would you recommend as the simplest way to rig up an external power source to the unit.
Thanks, but you provided the pinouts for the radio...I am looking for the pinouts for the navigation unit, which is physically located above the radio. Anyone know where to find the navigation pinouts>
Terminal 132 is the primary power supply for the display and navigation unit. You'll probably want these pins:
1: Battery, constant 12V+
2: ACC position of ignition, 12V+
3: Ignition on, 12V+
10: Ground
12: Illumination signal, 12V+ when light switch is set to tail or manual on
26: Dimmer signal, 9V+ when lights are on AUTO and the light sensor detects darkness
I'm not sure on the exact nature of signaling for pins 12 and 26; the manual mentions PWM on the illumination circuit on a different terminal. I would guess that the same 12V supplied to one or both of those pins should be enough to test the backlighting for buttons and other controls.
