Default New to LS, need some expertise

Soo I finally made the move from the GS to the LS platform. A few questions so far. I just had my car delivered from the auction and I can tell a few problems....

1. Where is the best to find the relatively inexpensive front control arms? I usually go to rockauto... but I can tell the car feels squirmy over bumps and I'm assuming that's the problem.

2. Best way to swap air? So far it feels nice (apart from the squirrely-ness) but I don't wanna deal with air problems down the line. Can I go with the factory non-air struts? In not looking to lower. Just want to keep the comfortable ride and not cough up a grand, yet.

3. Best places to find replacement panels? The ZLZ program closed already and the frond door panels at the top are really irritating to look at. Along with needed body panels. Right now getting it mechanically sound it's what I'm worrying about but eventually I wanna deal with the air and body

What year, RWD or AWD, F-sport?
1. Rockauto, Amazon for aftermarket. Ebay, Amayama etc. for OEM.
2. Yes. Use search.
3. Ebay, junk yards.

1. I shall look around, haven't heard about the last one but I'll definitely check. For 2, sorry, I'll double check, I didn't think most people had did thought of doing that. But it's a 2007 LS460L RWD

Congrats on the new LS and I wish you good luck with it.

There is a wealth of info on this site. In addition to the search function, the sticky threads at the top have lots of info.

Congrats on LS. Mine was my Dad’s and he wouldn’t sell it to me, though he had put only 50K miles on it in 10yrs. He finally had a control arm problem, like all LS’s do, and was going to trade it in when I convinced him to sell to me. He didn’t want to, as the Lexus repair was $5000 back then for the control arms and didn’t want to burden me. Told him I would fix it for $300. He took the $5K off the sell and I went to work.

1. You will be doing this again, so learn how to do the control arm repair. It’s the car’s Achilles Heal as you read. Don’t waste your money on the expensive arms, despite what people tell you. I’ve (as well as many others) done both and can’t tell the difference except in my wallet. If it lets you sleep at night, knock yourself out. Just look on Rockauto at the majority buy and you’ll figure it out.
2. Same as other guys
3. Good luck finding them, but they are out there

i was going to buy a new LS a few years ago when I felt my 2007 (now 112K miles) was feeling tired, and didn’t like the performance of the newer models. So instead of spending $110K, I am putting $10K into mine. Starting with $2K in new air shocks (Arnott) and control arms this very week (waiting on additional parts).

wish you luck. Lot of great guys on here to help

Take a look at FAQ at top of the page. Lots of great info. Searching is great too. There's no single right answer, that's why I suggest searching to educate yourself and then decide after that.

Thanks all for the the answers! I was actually trying to see if buying 13 equipment was better than buying 07 parts. I'm assuming because of the redesign they engineered them a bit better. I've been looking through the group for most of my answers and I'm gonna start working in the car soon. So far it's just the pcs, and smaller electrical jobs like headlights and stuff.. I'm just glad everything in my executive package works as it should!
