Looking at a used 460
Assuming that I may have looked at the Lexus records for the car in question:
- It appears that one rear shock was recommended for replacement, and that the owner at the time declined that service.
- The last input into the Lexus record was at about 102k miles. Indeed, regular maintenance was done on schedule through then, and, other than the recall work on the water pump (or something like that), nothing else notable appears to have come up.
- One accident has been reported.
- According to the Carfax report, the second owner bought in November 2021, and the accident occurred in January, 2022 (Carfax says minor damage, whatever that means), and it appears that the second owner sold it soon thereafter, in March or earlier. I'd be looking deeply into the impact of the accident on this vehicle!!! The categorization of the accident as minor damage may not take into account impact on non-body items, such as electrical components, drive components, etc. I'd look closely.
All that being said, the accident wouldn't scare me away; but, I would not move ahead without having a lot of knowledge related to the accident.

If you plan to keep the car till the wheels fall off and the repair to the accident was very minor, then it's probably ok. But resale will be tough. If it were me, I'd walk quickly.
Agreed. I always plan on keeping forever till a new shiny comes along. I am honestly leaning more towards a Honda Accord hybrid for a little bit more boring. The LS is so fabulous and special though.
The LS is special. You should set your sites on a 16 or 17. You won't be disappointed.
