Default Another front end rattle question

So, I have a rattle that is only apparent while not breaking. As soon as I brake the clanking goes away. I hear it on both sides.
2008 LS460L air ride

I have:
replace one of the shocks
lower control arms both sides
put the proper hardware on the brakes to make sure they have all the clips
Replaced one of the rotors seemed to be loose.

Does this has to have SOMETHING to do with the breaks since it stops when I brake?

The wheels seem to shutter or bounce when it makes the sound. if I drive back over bump with brake pressed it doesn't do it.

Does anyone have any ideas? I am losing my GD mind.

Does any other component of the suspension tied to the brake?

I just looked up diagram and see that the "control link" is what is called has a little rattle and is loose. How do you tighten this up? Could this be making the noise?

I think, that control link is too small to make a lot of noise. What about sway bar links and upper control arms?

How do you tell? I have all the replacement parts but I am already about $1300 into this project and sound is still here....

I actually bought all the parts but I don't want to keep replacing things just for the hell of it....this means that I am throwing money away with the parts I am replacing that dont need it

Check out youtube how to check sway bar links and control arms. Have you tried rocking the front wheels when the car is in the air?

That bushing looks OK unless it was damaged. What about sway bar bushings?

I have a similar problem, less the stepping on brake(not break) pedal. Mine is AWD, but lots of the same linkage. I am going to go after the lower spindle ball joint. Mine is bolted on, yours is pressed. I would look at that and see what you see. Pretty sure those take quite a beating.

sway bar bushings and upper control arm bushings look good

Why does this not make the sound when I am braking?

Just a thought, maybe when you are braking it "loads" the suspension with a weight shift of the car. Like when you hit the brakes, your body wants to move forward with the momentum. Please keep us updated

Brake pads with anti-rattle hardware should be tight when seated.

Can you reproduce rattling by pushing on the front end?

I’ve had the same problem for over a year and can’t find out where it’s from. Replaced everything up front, even buying actual Lexus brake hardware and pads with no success.

Recent mechanic friend says it’s my motor mounts (118k) but that doesn’t explain why the sound goes away when the brake pedal is applied, so I’m hesitant to believe.

someone has had to have this problem and fixed it?

No, cannot reproduce rattle while pushing in the entire front end. All of my front end parts are solid. Even took mine to the local Toyota dealer and they couldn’t find it.

I had a rattle that would go away while applying brakes. I only heard the rattle when going under 25mph or so. Replacing all of the brake hardware fixed it.

It was easy to diagnose.
With the car parked I could reach inside the spokes of the rim and rattle the brake pads.

Absolutely. And shims could be the issue as well.
Additionally, sometimes when only part of the total control arms/suspension is replaced, then the weakest link syndrome may come into play.
