If your battery is more than two years old and you continue to have these difficult-to-explain events, you should consider replacing it. Batteries sometimes shed sulfate deposits that cause intermittent shorts within the battery. This condition can be hard to detect through routine testing. Batteries are not expensive and typically have a service life of about 40 months.
