I'm not mocking my "approach." Someone on the Internet had posted a picture of the duct tape fix and it seemed to be a serious, sincere input. That was one of my first clues as to the cause of the problem that many were experiencing.

My position on this has always been for people to fix the problem anyway that works for them. The big hurdle was finding out what the cause was.

My 07 had the issue on the pass side but not drivers side......it's extremely easy to fix though. Just pull off the black trim triangle and replace with with a new one if you broke it after following the formal fix above. OR you can just use a high amount of silicone sealer under it and hope it doesn't move. I went that route since it took 3 minutes

However it was only because of jmcraney I knew what it was turning an issue into a total non-issue. If I had to hunt for the source of the problem I likely would have been quite annoyed to find what it actually is after spending hours on it.

Thank you for your input. You have made an important point. I have made this point too, several times in this forum. If you have a wind noise problem that seems to be related to the triangle trim, the easiest thing and best thing to try is replacing the trim piece with a new part. I am not talking about a different part #, I am talking about a fresh part, one that has not previously been applied to a car. These are single use parts and can not be reused. There are 2 different part numbers that will work equally well as to wind noise. In most cases the root of the wind noise problem is related to the car and not the trim part. So putting on a new part will not yield a durable fix or even a fix in some cases. If your problem returns after you have tried a new part, then you will have to do a more aggressive repair. I have provided directions for a durable repair. Others have posted great repair methods in this forum. Although there is some subjectivity to this issue, If you think you might have a wind noise problem, then you probably do. These cars are so exceptionally quiet, when all is well, that a reasonable person would not suspect a problem when there is none.
