Default Clunking sound

Hi guys,

I recently had my front lower rearward controls arms done on my 2014 Awd Fsport. Also changed out ball joints on both sides. I had the mechanic loosen the bolts for control arms when the car was sitting on alignment machine and then re-tightened so the control arms sit in the natural position.

Right after alignment, every time I turn the wheel, engage gears, move the car..there is a clunking sound. The mechanic did drop the sub frame from rear of the engine.. I don’t know what it could be. Do you guys think the engine mount came loose? Any help is appreciated

The question is, did the mechanics loosen the control arms enough? Usually, there is a distinct sound when the arms snap back.

Actually there was no sound when he loosened the arms. I didn’t think there had to be a sound for it set in properly..

Are you hearing it over bumps or just turns?

Car is at full stop..just turned on after 10 hours of sitting over night. Engaged gear..clunk sound..turned wheel to the left..clunk sound..dominantly when turned to the left. Mechanic said it’s coming from between the left and right wheels..engine mount?

I would double check if all bolts were tighten. Check all the bushings the mechanic touched including subframe.

Well, now that narrows it down.
And then I'll add to that, it's probably from the front end of the car. <BFG>

The car needs to go on a lift so all the front end items can be visually checked as well as checking for movement with weight off the wheels. We can't do that via forum.
