Default Steering wheel problem 2007 Lexus LS460

Hey everyone I would not say this is a big problem but I recently purchased a 2007 lexus Ls460 and I only have a problem that doesn’t happen all the time but sometimes when I turn the car On it doesn’t return to the first seat and when I turn it off the steering doesn’t go back inside the car automatically but the memory seat and everything works fine and I have zero issues with the steering it goes in all directions without no problem but when I turned off it just shut the car off but the steering doesn’t go back i inside the car so you know how you can get out off the car easily but mine doesn’t do that sometimes anyone can help??

There seems to be an issue with the steering wheel tilt mechanism. Does it make any strange noises?

Other than remove panels around steering linkage and doing a visual inspection in hopes to find the source of the issue, I do not know what else to recommend.

Had something like this on my LS400, suggested was to find the gears that move the wheel and put lithium grease on it. It did help smooth it out.

If the wheel works perfect manually. I would try to reset the battery, pull the battery, reset the seat settings and see it works. Also there is an option in TechStream to disable the auto steering wheel so if it does not do it at all, it could of been disabled.

How do I rest the seats also do I just unplug the battery and then plug it back in?
