Default Ls460 need info on 13-17 model difference please help

Hello what Are the difference on a 2013.14.15.16.17..
I heard that it’s full screen navigation on a 2016 and up ..
I been searching for this car for a while for my perfect color combination with led headlights.
but the question I’m asking is because if there all the same with no updates than what’s the point of a newer model year..
Or you do guys have a link for a full description on update for certain years cause I’m pretty sure it’s upgraded on certain newer years .:.
this is gonna be my most expensive purchase on a car and I don’t want to regret something cause of the years of the car ..cause body wise is all the same
Budget is 30-35 ish grand..
Please help if you can.
many thanks
looking for a silver ext black int led headlights L version.. don’t care for any other options..

Other than the larger nav screen and revised controller on the 2016 and 2017 cars, I'm not sure there are any other differences. That's the only one I was aware of between my 2013 and 2016. And it was a nice difference. I'd stick to the newest model you can find although if an older car with a sterling history shows up its also worth considering.

From 2015 MY, the reversing lines moved with rotation of the steering wheel. Moreover, while the mechanicals and external appearance were identical from 2013-2017, there were lots of invisible improvements to the vehicle's stiffness from year to year with better adhesives and other changes.

In addition to full-screen Nav Map display from 2016 onwards and revised controller (three extra buttons), the on-screen graphics were spruced up in 2015, and again in 2016.

And the infrared Night Vision option was discontinued in US models after 2013. This is separate from the infrared used for pedestrian detection that remained until 2017.

The point of a newer car is its newer, and has more life in it than an older car.

For me, mileage is more of a factor of a vehicle's life than its model year. All other things such as options, colors, etc. being equal, I'd prefer a 2016 with only 10,000 miles versus a 2017 with 100,000 miles.

I would recommend sticking with the 16-17 years.

That's a rather extreme example though. A more real world one is a 2017 with 80k highway miles versus a 2016 with 40k pounding through the streets of Manhattan. I'd rather have the highway mile car.

Thank you so much for all the reply’s...
2016-2017 is what I’m gonna find definitely out of state since I’m from New York City and most are stop and go with snow conditions here plus it’s hard to get a garage here so most would have bumper damage since we have no choice but park in the streets.it’s true the newer the year the better for less maintenance hopefully..!
the funny thing I think about is why are a lot of these 100k+++ cars turn to crap after a certain mileage or years .. someone would think that I’m spending this much for a car would be no issue but I can buy a Lexus/ Toyota for alit less almost maintenance free.. just oil change tire rotation and basic service and I’m good...that why most ubers drives Toyota..
when I own Mercedes or bmw...
I swear it was like ok I’m gonna start the car please finger crossed no extra light on my dash...I love the Lexus for that cause I rarely get a light beside air for the tires windshield fluid and low gas..I love the German big body styles but scare of one issue cause it like a domino effect if one issue pops up...
Didn’t know this car was so rare to find in my ext and int color combinations with low miles I guess ppl don’t want to sell since there so reliable and I don’t blame them.......the 2018++ ls now is ughhh.. but the 2013 +++ ls460l is perfectly my style for the model...I think that’s the most modern ls to date..that looks perfect

the lc500 is a dream from every angel.:

Does anyone has a pic of the screen from 2013vs 2016..:.
my favorite is sw17 car....clean and stock.!

I intentionally made it extreme in order to further my case that I would prefer a one year older car with substantially less miles although, as you mentioned, highway/city miles would also be a factor. In your scenario, if it were the 2016 that had the highway miles and the 2017 the Manhattan streets, which would you rather have?

Funny you should say that. When I bought my 2016L I had exactly that choice. A 2017 460L at Lexus of Manhattan with 30k miles or the 2016 I bought at another Lexus store with 80k highway miles and a flawless service history. Wasn't a difficult choice and it was also substantially less money. The key is service history rather than miles. These are complicated cars and city use (especially in someplace like NYC is just asking for issues. Loping down the interstate at 2k rpm doesn't wear on anything but the tires. I've had extraordinarily good results with higher-mile Lexus and Toyota cars. That said when I left Lexus for Audi, it was for a CPO car with 15k on the clock. I wouldn't do that with a German car at all.

Just remember there are very few 16 and 17 cars in existance compared to 13-15 cars.

You may want to check out the cargurus web site for the 2016-17 Lexus LS460L for the nationwide listings, which will have photos of the interior and exterior to see the screen differences. Then there is the decision of AWD or RWD for driving in the New York snow. Good luck.

Car Pilot is WAY better than CarGurus. Give it a try and you'll see.

And the ones with low mileage sell like potatoes ! I have a 16 and a 15, there is not much difference, if any, besides the navigation, if you can find a good 15 example with low mileage go for it.

Check the Lexus dealer in San Diego, they have a 15 one with only 15.000 miles for $37000, which to me is a good price, not so sure what is you price range....
